Back to School Blast
On Saturday, Aug. 13 from 9 a.m. to 12:00 Noon there will be FREE Bookbags, School Supplies and Shoes* for low income families in our community with children attending school. Parent must be present. The event will be held at the Roanoke Civic Center Activities include FREE Haircuts, Facepainting, Entertainment…and more! (*While supplies last) We anticipate serving 3,000 kids this year!
We need your help with collecting these supplies. If you would like to help, Bookbags and School Supply Donations will be accepted at participating area merchants and at The Rescue Mission, 402 4th St. Roanoke, Virginia from 7am - 9pm. Our greatest needs are bookbags and athletic shoes. (All donations must be new, not used.) Call (540) 343-7227 for questions. Deadline for Donations Sunday, July 31st.
