    ART AS AN INSTRUMENT TO RELIEVE PAIN, Wednesday, October 6 by nationally acclaimed artist Bill Beamer. Beamer has exhibited in over 50 solo, juried/curated, and invitational art shows and is an award winning trumpeter. His art works can be found in numerous public and private collections, including the Virginia’s Governor’s Mansion, the Virginia Fine Arts Center for the New River Valley, and the estate of noted art/cultural historian, Roger Shattuck. In addition to his own drawing, Beamer teaches classes in “drawing as quiet active meditation” to relieve pain and stress.

Sisson is a pastor and a potter who currently fills her vocation by managing the Rescue Mission’s Art Studio where she also provides spiritual direction for Mission Recovery Program Participants.
